What happens once I accept your quote offer?

We then set up a transaction with escrow with your information and the watch you are selling to us and send the payment to escrow. Then you will receive a prepaid and fully insured shipping label. Once we receive the watch and inspect it and find that everything is in order then we release the escrow payment to you.

What happens if the package is lost / stolen / damaged?

The shipping label you receive from us is fully insured which means that if your watch package is lost, or stolen on delivery you are insured for the full amount quoted for your watch.

Do you use my personal information with any 3rd party?

Absolutely not. We value our customer's confidentiality and do not share any personal information with any 3rd party.

How do I ship the watch?

Check your email and print the shipping label. Pack the watch carefully with bubble wrap and put it in a small box. Then put that small box in a slightly bigger box with some padding materials (rounded pieces of newspapers does the job). Then seal the box and tape the shipping label onto the box.

Once packed, what do I do with the package?

When you are ready to ship your package, either schedule a pick up or take the package to an authorized Fedex shipping facility. You may schedule a pick up by calling 1-800-GO-FEDEX. Notify the Fedex representative that you have a pre-paid package with a pre-paid and pre-attached shipping label. Do NOT drop your package off at a drop box as insurance does not cover unmanned drop-off facilities. For security purposes, do not disclose the contents or value of this shipment when dropping off your package at the Fedex store.

How often is the initial quote the final quote price?

In most cases the quote will stay true to our initial quote. Only if the condition of the watch is far from the condition which was stated by you or shown in the photos, will the final quote be different than the initial quote. If the final quote changes from the initial quote for that reason and you do not wish to proceed with the transaction, we will gladly ship the watch back to you on our expense.

What if I don’t have the box/papers, will that affect the value/quote?

Yes. The papers are most important when trying to resell. Box and packaging not so much but they still have some value while trying to resell.

How does WatchPayer determine the value of the watch?

We have a vast database with current market prices for each brand/model sold. We then factor in the age of the watch and the condition it's in and if it comes with box and papers.

How long does it take to get a quote for my watch?

Between 12-24 hours. It takes up to 24 hours for us to send a quote. In order to give you the absolute best price for your watch we sometimes need to do a little bit more research.

How many watches can I sell with Watch Payer?

There is no limit on the number of watches you can sell to us. If you have more than 3 watches then its best you contact us directly by email so we can give you the best quote for your watches.

Does Watch Payer accept watches from outside of the USA?

We do on a case by case basis. Please feel free to fill out our quote request form or contact us by email.

Does your quote expire at some point?

Yes it does. Our quote is no longer valid after 7 days. If you would like to sell the same watch in the future then you would have to fill in the form again as market prices change.

What happens after I ship my watch?

Once we receive the watch our professional team of watchmakers will inspect it to determine its functionality and authenticity. Once those are determined we will release the escrow payment to you immediately. Please mind that if your watch needs a full overhaul and/or parts we might adjust the initial quote and keep you informed. If your watch was determined to be a replica then you will have to pay for the return shipping to you.

Why do I need to submit a picture of my driver’s license in order to sell my watch?

We are required by NY state law to report who we buy the watch from to make sure it's not stolen. If it is stolen then we are required to report to the authorities that it is in our possession and who handed it to us before we return it back to you at your expense.

How do I get paid?

You get paid with escrow before we receive the watch! Once your watch passes our inspection, we notifiy Escrow.com and they release your funds. Usually a bank wire or an ACH takes 1 business day to clear. In your Escrow.com account you will have the option to chose your preferred way of payment.

How long does it take for me to get paid?

A bank wire takes 1 business day to clear into a US bank account. ACH payment might take a few days until it shows up in your account.
